Somebody on a Joel on Software forum asked how to explain Web Services to a non-technical business person. Here's my 10-second elevator pitch:
- Web pages allow people to communicate and collaborate with each other using the Internet or an intranet.
- Web services allow programs to communicate and collaborate with each other using the Internet or an intranet.
